Sustainability at Recreo
![]() |
RECREO is committed to conserving energy and water, as a means to help preserve not only our pristine location in El Jobo, Guanacaste, but also the planet. As part of our Sustainability Program we have invested in solar power generation, rain water harvesting and grey water collection and re-use. We are also undertaking a long term wind assessment study to help us determine how best to harness the powerful trade winds at our mountain tops to produce clean energy for our entire development. Meanwhile we’re advancing plans for solar water heating, solar pool heating and of continuously monitoring the performance of our new generation assets, as well as our energy consumption patterns.
As the environment is the cornerstone upon which Recreo exists, we are proud to announce that Recreo is one of the earliest participants in Costa Rica’s net-metering program. Renewable energy is an important part of Recreo’s future and we invite you to visit us and witness first-hand the benefits of living in a more ecologically sustainable home.
