Couples may opt to get married in any number of breathtaking outdoor settings, from the mountaintop to beaches. Other indoor spots are also available for use. Our florist will use local flowers, and our Cooks' organic local produce. Recreo will provide all transport desired for the couple and guests to and from the wedding and reception.
Recreo can customize the perfect wedding or honeymoon package, whether couples want to relax to be pampered, indulge their sense of adventure or anything in between. In addition to the amenities and services Recreo provides, the following are additions that can be added for an unforgettable experience:
* A wedding/honeymoon villa with custom flower bouquets,
* Champagne and strawberries on arrival, with your private Cook on hand to cater to every culinary whim,

Costa Rica Wedding Specialist
Our personal concierge, on-site expert and wedding consultant will work with you to reserve your dates, plan the schedule of events and coordinate the details. Additionally, we will work with you to gather all documentation needed to get married in Costa Rica in advance of the trip.
Costa Rica Wedding Flowers
Our talented staff will work together with the florist to decorate wedding party bouquets and the ceremony and gathering spaces according to your chosen colors, style and type of flowers.
Photography and Videography
Public spaces within or near Recreo are available to wedding parties. A number of areas at
Recreo provide a stunning backdrop for your wedding pictures. Recreo can also book our exclusive wedding photographer for your special day.

Based on your preferences, Recreo can assist in setting the atmosphere for your special day, from traditional Costa Rican music, solo guitarist or a DJ for the reception.

You and your guests are invited to make use of our on-site facilities with a restful massage, hydrating facial and body treatments, polished manicure or other rejuvenating spa treatments before or after your wedding.
Event Catering
From the rehearsal dinner, to welcome parties and brunches, the reception with wedding cake, Recreo will coordinate and arrange the catering needs and menu planning with your guidance. Whether it is breakfast in bed prepared by a private Cook in your villa or a dinner for 50 guests, our staff will tend to every detail.
Requirements for getting married in Costa Rica
* Copies of current passports for bride, groom and witnesses including current contact information
* Birth certificates for the groom and bride
* Notarized "civil status" report or a letter that is notarized stating that neither party has ever been married
* Divorce certificates, if applicable, for the groom and bride. If the bride or groom has been married previously, a photocopy of the final judgment executing the divorce is required.
* If the bride has been divorced from a previous marriage during the 10 months prior to the wedding date, certifications issued by two Costa Rican physicians stating that she is not currently pregnant are also required.
* Two witnesses at the ceremony. Anyone can serve as a witness, even your close family or the hotel's staff.
* The registration process of a civil marriage in Costa Rica takes approximately three to four months after your wedding day. You will be mailed the official marriage certificate issued by the Costa Rican Civil Registry Office. You must take this to the nearest Costa Rican Consulate. Your marriage in Costa Rica is recognized in the US and Canada and it is considered legal internationally.
* Your legal officiate services include performing all the legal documentation you will need; the registration of the documents at the Registry office and the mailing of your final marriage certificate.
